Melbourne Recital Centre
ERD has a significant history with the Melbourne Recital Centre (MRC), which has embraced design innovation with us since opening its doors in 2009.
To mark ten years of MRC’s operation, ERD developed a campaign brand and collateral to mark the milestone. The brandmark is a bold expression of the performance space, translating directly to the invitation and program of MRC’s 10th Anniversary Gala Dinner.
In fact, ERD has branded myriad MRC projects. The overarching corporate brand, originating with Saatchi & Saatchi, specified that no two marks should ever be the same. This led to the need for us to manage and compose hundreds of graphical assets for multiple categories across all marketing collateral and campaigns.
Of particular note was our launch campaign work, capturing a pivotal moment in Melbourne’s cultural history and branding MRC as the city’s new arts portal. This major roll-out encompassed print, digital, outdoor and destinational branding, and animated stings. It garnered multiple industry awards.
MRC was also in ongoing need of identity campaigns for the individual artists gracing its space, often on a weekly basis. It sounds overwhelming, but any opportunity to create great design is music to ERD’s ears.
